I love this sweet family. So far, I’ve done their maternity, newborn and now 1st birthday for their sweet little boy. I love to grow with my clients and feel beyond honored that they choose and trust me to capture special times in their lives.
This session started off in the morning with a 30% chance of rain. The sky looked dreamy with an orange hue. We knocked out the family photos and then started the cake smash. Hug rain drops started to fall and we got drenched. Jacksonville summers are very unpredictable as far as rain goes. Sometimes it calls for rain and there isn’t a cloud in the sky. The dairy-free cake survived. Thank the Good lord.
We planned on meeting back up later in the day to finish up the cake smash. Same spot same clothing. Sweet baby Colin wasn’t as cheery the 2nd time around but some bubbles and crazy sounds helped him smile. When it was time for the cake. Baby Colin wasn’t having it. He didn’t like it. Started crying instantly. He didn’t like the frosting in his hands. PRO TIP: some babies don’t like getting their hands dirty so always bring a spoon for a cake smash! The spoon worked. We wiped off tears and had him smiling again. The pictures turned out beautiful. So thankful for how chill everyone was with nature’s curb ball.
